Flow Traders Opens a 24/7 Liquidity Firehose for Tokenized Gold, Stocks, and Yield-Generating JPEGs

Crypto market maker Flow Traders has decided the future doesn't sleep, adding tokenized assets to its round-the-clock OTC desk. The firm is now offering two-way liquidity for shiny on-chain trophies like Franklin Templeton's money-market fund (BENJI) and Tether Gold (XAUT), because even institutions need a place to trade their blockchain receipts after dark.

For the "permissioned" crowd—those who've jumped through the KYC hoops—this means the ability to trade or hedge these assets using fiat or stablecoins, well outside the cozy 9-to-5 window of traditional finance. It's the institutional equivalent of finding a 24-hour diner that accepts your loyalty card.

CEO Thomas Spitz, likely tired of watching markets move while his desk was closed, called tokenization the logical next step after ETFs and electronic trading. He pointed to growing institutional FOMO for 24/7 exposure, as market risk has politely decided it no longer respects the closing bell.

This expansion is less of a lone wolf move and more part of a pack migration. Wintermute dipped its toes in last month, supporting tokenized commodities like XAUT and Pax Gold (PAXG), while GSR partnered with DigiFT in August to launch secondary OTC trading for tokenized real-world assets. The race to provide liquidity for everything that isn't a meme coin is officially on.

Founded back when dial-up was still a thing (2004), Flow Traders is a Euronext Amsterdam-listed behemoth with a market cap over $1 billion. It already plays market maker across the entire casino floor: equities, fixed income, commodities, crypto, and FX. The firm notes its RWA coverage will evolve based on what counterparties demand, what regulators tolerate, and which venues are supported, with product availability potentially varying by jurisdiction and which part of the Flow Traders hydra you're dealing with.
