Avalanche Gets a 'Brands' Infusion: Animoca Unloads Its 600-Project Rolodex on the Chain

Animoca Brands has strategically opened its wallet for Ava Labs, forging a partnership designed to pump growth into the Avalanche ecosystem. The first targets in this cross-chain raid are the familiar trio of entertainment, real-world assets (RWAs), and digital identity—because in crypto, you haven't really made it until you're tokenizing someone's loyalty points.

The alliance will focus on deploying capital, integrating products, and offering strategic advice to projects building on Avalanche, essentially providing a turbo-boost for builders. The initial battlegrounds will be Asia and the Middle East, regions where Animoca has been busy laying down digital infrastructure and schmoozing with institutions, presumably over very expensive coffee.

Animoca planted its flag in the Middle East with a Dubai office in April 2025 and later, in February 2026, bagged a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license from Dubai’s VARA. This little piece of paper allows it to legally play broker-dealer and investment guru from the land of sand and skyscrapers, a crucial step for any firm that doesn't fancy regulatory surprises.

For Avalanche, this deal is another brick in its wall of institutional expansion. Ava Labs has recently been touting Middle East partnerships focused on everything from remittances to tokenized assets, because if you're not embedding finance into something these days, are you even trying?

The goal is to mash Avalanche's technical prowess with Animoca's vast distribution and advisory network, like a blockchain power couple. Projects on Avalanche will get to tap into Animoca's Rolodex of commercial relationships, all in the name of improving user access and interoperability—or, as it's known in the biz, "making things actually work together."

Animoca's involvement highlights its own glow-up from a gaming-centric shop to a broader institutional and advisory heavyweight. The company boasts a portfolio of over 600 companies and digital assets and now operates across digital asset services, tokenization, and investment management, basically becoming the Swiss Army knife of web3.

The announcement was notably shy on the specifics, like the size of Animoca’s investment in Ava Labs or any concrete capital commitments. The focus remains on RWAs, digital identity, and regional expansion—sectors where institutional FOMO and regulatory scrutiny are currently having a moment.

Meanwhile, Avalanche’s native token AVAX was last seen trading about 2.3% lower on the day near $9.46, and remains down roughly 23% year to date, proving that even the flashiest of partnerships can't always fight the broader market gravity.
