Saylor's Sats Suck-Up Strategy: Software Firm Swaps Stock for Another 1,031 Bitcoin

MicroStrategy Inc., the enterprise software outfit that now moonlights as Wall Street's most dedicated Bitcoin DCA bot, has just auto-bought another 1,031 BTC. The Tysons Corner treasury-drainer deployed approximately $77 million, paying an average of $74,326 per digital gold coin, all financed by dumping more of its Class A common stock.

This brings the company's total corporate dragon hoard to a staggering 762,099 BTC, valued at roughly $53 billion. It's a polite nibble compared to last month's absolute feeding frenzy—where MicroStrategy gulped down 17,994 BTC on March 9 and a whopping 22,337 BTC on March 16, torching about $2.9 billion in total monthly fiat.

The latest acquisition is just another Tuesday for the firm's core, unshakable thesis: buy Bitcoin, print a press release, repeat. This has been the unwavering playbook since CEO Michael Saylor discovered his orange-pilled destiny back in 2020.

With Bitcoin's current spot price hovering around $70,000, MicroStrategy's average cost basis of $75,696 per coin means the company is currently sitting on an estimated $4 billion in unrealized losses. For those keeping score at home, BTC is down about 44% from its dizzying October 2025 all-time high of $126,198—a classic case of diamond hands meeting a rocky market.

Fear not, the corporate treasury still has plenty of ammunition in the clip. The company has about $6.2 billion in MSTR shares left to sell under its at-the-market program, not to mention a veritable alphabet soup of other stock tickers: $20.3 billion in STRK preferred stock capacity, $4 billion in STRD, $2 billion in STRC, and $1.6 billion in STRF. The money printer is far from jammed.

MicroStrategy's colossal stack of 762,099 BTC now accounts for approximately 3.6% of all Bitcoin that will ever exist. That's not just a position; it's a permanent, unignorable landmark on the blockchain.
