Midterm Maximalists: Crypto PAC Preps to Pump Politicians, Dump the Nocoiners

The crypto advocacy cavalry, Stand With Crypto, is deploying its political battle plan for the 2026 midterms. Backed by Coinbase's war chest, the org has officially blessed six congressional incumbents who've passed the vibe check: Republicans Zach Nunn (Iowa), Mike Lawler (New York), and Rob Bresnahan (Pennsylvania), alongside Democrats Don Davis (North Carolina), Susie Lee (Nevada), and Greg Landsman (Ohio). Bipartisanship is back, as long as you're not a no-coiner.

Not everyone gets a participation trophy, however. The group also declared it will actively work to unseat two incumbents with anti-crypto records, Democrat Marcy Kaptur in Ohio and Republican Scott Perry in Pennsylvania. Their strategy? Mobilize its army of 2.7 million advocates with a full-spectrum assault of paid media, digital organizing, SMS blasts, and good old-fashioned paper mail—because sometimes you need to touch grass, even in a political campaign.

A fresh poll commissioned by the group offers a peek into the mind of the crypto-owning voter, a creature motivated more by self-custody than party loyalty. The survey, by Impact Research, found Republicans are favored over Democrats as better for the industry (45% to 26%), but neither party has a majority. The real alpha? These voters are highly motivated, with 64% reportedly jacked to the tits about supporting pro-crypto candidates.

The midterm outcome is basically a fork for the industry's legislative roadmap. Even if something like the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act moons before November, the roadmap still has other major upgrades pending, including crypto tax tailoring and establishing a U.S. strategic bitcoin reserve as mandated by President Donald Trump's executive order.

The political chart, however, is looking volatile. Prediction market Kalshi is pricing the odds of Democrats flipping the House majority at over 84%, with the Senate considered closer to a 50/50 coin flip. This potential regime change could see crypto legislation get rugged from the top of the priority list, a stark contrast to the current Republican-led focus.

Stand With Crypto, which officially launched its PAC in 2024, hasn't been shy about getting its hands dirty in primaries. Related crypto-affiliated PACs have already deployed millions this cycle, including a cool $1.5 million spent opposing Texas Representative Al Green, who now faces a runoff against a candidate rated as 'strongly supports crypto.' The group's new 'voter hub' will essentially doxx candidates' records, grading them on public statements and votes, mirroring its existing degen scorecard system.
