Devs on Vacation: Ethereum Still Leads the Pack While Everyone Else Takes a Bear Market Nap
The blockchain industry is going through a considerable slowdown, but despite the notable decline over the past month, Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Polygon remain the top blockchains in terms of developer activity. According to data from Santiment, the other leading names include Optimism, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Solana, Cosmos, Harmony, and Cardano. Basically, it's like watching a group of friends claim they're "taking a break" from the gym while secretly checking who's still doing pushups.
Ethereum still dominates the list of key blockchains based on monthly developer activity, even with a 17.79% drop. It recorded 50.6K developer activity events over the past thirty days, with its Developer Activity Event Contributors dropping by 3.53% to 1.1K. TheMerge was so last year, and now Vitalik's inbox is probably just people asking for airdrop confirmations, yet somehow ETH still flexing with more dev activity than the next three chains combined.
BNB Chain claimed the second spot with 26.1K Developer Activity Events after a 16.58% slump. Its contributor count fell by 2.49% to 588. CZ might be sipping margaritas somewhere warm, but BNB's dev army keeps shipping code like they're chasing a deadline before the next regulatory headline drops.
Polygon came in third with 21.1K Developer Activity Events, down 16.07% for the month. Its contributors dropped to 439 following a 2.88% plunge. The Polygon team really said "let's gaslight, gatekeep, and girlboss our way through this dip" and somehow it worked.
Optimism landed in fourth place with 17.5K events, representing a 13.73% reduction. Its 349 contributors show a 1.69% decrease. OP Stack adoption looking sexier than ever, and the devs aren't even sweating the red candles—turns out building actual infrastructure pays dividends while everyone else is panic-tweeting.
Arbitrum recorded 16.9K events and 368 contributors this month, with 16.63% and 1.34% plunges respectively. The ARB token might be performing like a sad trombone, but the developers are still in the trenches building. Meanwhile, the rest of us are just here waiting for the next governance proposal to pass so we can feel something.
Avalanche followed with 16.6K events and 315 contributors, representing 15.16% and 1.56% slumps. Avalanche's
