America's Bitcoin ETF Exodus: $296M Walks Out the Door While Germany and Canada Buy the Dip

By our Markets Desk2 min read

U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs decided to take a collective nap — or perhaps a panic attack — posting $296 million in net outflows for the week ending March 27, per SoSoValue data. The vibes shifted harder than a degen chasing a rug pull — total net assets dropped 7.5%, sliding from $91.7 billion on March 23 to $84.8 billion by Friday's close. That's roughly $6.9 billion evaporating faster than excitement at a family office meeting.

Global funds weren't spared either, with total AUM dipping to $129 billion — basically back to early February levels and uncomfortably close to where things stood during the initial Trump tariff chaos in April 2025. For those keeping score at home, that's the financial equivalent of running a marathon only to end up exactly where you started, sweating profusely and questioning your life choices.

The negativity was very much an American affair. Stateside funds contributed $445 million of the outflows, while Germany and Canada showed some contrarian energy with $21.2 million and $15.9 million in inflows respectively — classic dip-buying behavior from folks who've been around the block a few times. Switzerland kept things relatively quiet with a modest $4 million outflow, essentially the equivalent of a shrug in ETF form.

Ethereum products had an even rougher time, logging $222 million in global withdrawals — pushing year-to-date flows to a net outflow of $273 million, making it the underperformer among major digital assets. ETH holders are currently experiencing what can only be described as "Bitcoin's correction, but make it personal."

The ugliest day? March 27, when $225.5 million fled U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs — the heaviest single-day bleed of the week. BlackRock's IBIT led the charge to the exits, shedding $201.5 million that day alone, the largest single-fund outflow across
