Pi Network's Second Migration: Where Passphrases Go to Die (Don't Let Yours Join Them)

Another day, another scam wave crashing into Pi Network. This time, fake 2FA links are making the rounds during the Second Migration, and users are falling for it harder than a degen chasing a rug pull at 3am.

The scheme is slick. Scammers are cloning official messages and pushing links that promise to help with two-factor authentication. Users click, enter their wallet passphrase thinking they're securing their account, and boom—wallet gone. It's that simple, and that devastating. Welcome to the internet, where your generosity is someone else's exit liquidity.

Here's the thing: there is NO external 2FA link for Pi Network. Any site asking for your passphrase outside the official app is a scam, period. Not "maybe," not "probably," not "let me think about it"—scam. Full stop. The only thing less trustworthy than a DM offering you free money is a website asking for your seed phrase while claiming to be "support."

Why the timing? The Second Migration is live, allowing users to move extra Pi (including referral bonuses) to the mainnet. Over 119,000 Pioneers have already completed it. That's a lot of active users checking updates, looking for help, and—unfortunately—clicking shady links. Scammers love FOMO season more than a influencer loves a trending hashtag. Migration windows are basically Christmas morning for grifters.

The Protocol 21 upgrade deadline is April 6, so node operators take note. Set your reminders, check your calendars, and for the love of all that is decentralized, don't wait until 11:59pm on April 5th to figure this out.

What to do: Never share your passphrase anywhere outside the official app. Ignore links sent via messages or posts. If something feels urgent, slow down. Verify everything. Already entered your passphrase on a suspicious site? Move your funds immediately and lock things down. Think of your passphrase like your toothbrush—don't show it to strangers, and don't leave it lying around.

Pi Network is growing, which means the scam ecosystem is growing too. Stay sharp. In crypto, one slip-up costs everything. The bear market taught us many things, but the most important one remains: your keys, your coins. Nobody else's business.
