Jesse Spiro, head of government affairs at Tether, is taking the crypto industry's political push to the next level. The stablecoin giant's top lobbyist will now chair the Fellowship PAC, a crypto-backed Super political action committee aiming to bankroll friendly candidates in the 2026 US midterm elections. Because nothing says "we're here to stay" quite like writing checks to politicians while your stablecoin's transparency remains... debatable.

Announced Wednesday, Fellowship PAC—launched in August 2025—claims it has raised "over $100 million" from undisclosed backers aligned with the crypto industry. The committee says it will support candidates who champion innovation, regulatory clarity for digital assets, and open markets. The money's definitely there. The names? Mysterious as the wallet that sent 10,000 BTC to pizzagate in 2010.

"We have an opportunity to ensure the United States remains the global hub for builders, entrepreneurs, and technological progress," Spiro said. "Fellowship PAC is committed to supporting leaders who understand what's at stake and are willing to act." Translation: please regulate us favorably or our very generous friends will find candidates who will.

The PAC filed its statement of organization with the US Federal Election Commission on August 7, 2025, but reported no contributions or expenditures as of December 31. It's unclear who exactly is funding the committee. A $100M war chest with zero receipts? In crypto? Groundbreaking. Truly. We've definitely never seen opaque money flows before.
