Chainlink's Quarterly Ritual: $165M in LINK Tokens Go Walkabout to Binance (Again)

Chainlink ($LINK) just completed its routine quarterly token unlock, because of course it did. For those keeping score at home, this is basically the crypto equivalent of the sun rising and whales complaining about gas fees—predictable, slightly annoying, and yet somehow still worth watching.

On-chain data shows 19 million $LINK tokens (worth approximately $165 million) moved from non-circulating supply addresses. The usual suspects received the bulk of the tokens: Binance got 14.37 million $LINK (around $125 million), while 4.62 million $LINK (approximately $40.1 million) landed in a multisig wallet at address 0xD50…8Af. For the uninitiated, that's roughly enough LINK to temporarily crash a small island nation's GDP if dumped all at once.

These quarterly unlock events have become something of a tradition in the LINKverse. A healthy chunk goes to exchanges for liquidity, with the remainder earmarked for staking rewards and ecosystem incentives. Market participants are watching closely, as sending millions to exchanges tends to raise eyebrows about potential short-term selling pressure. That said, history suggests these releases tend to get absorbed without causing lasting damage to the price structure. The market has seen this movie before—and honestly, it's getting a bit stale.
