Grayscale Drops the 'Compelling Entry Point' Bomb on SUI, ETH, SOL, LINK, and AVAX After 59% Altcoin Bloodbath

By our Markets Desk2 min read

Grayscale Investments decided to play hero this week, swooping in to tell everyone SUI's programming model is basically the holy trinity of institutional crypto: speed, efficiency, and reliability. The asset manager also slapped the "historically discounted" label on ETH, SOL, LINK, and AVAX, presumably while whispering "you're welcome" to anyone still holding bags from the last cycle.

In a recent post that read like a love letter to degens, Grayscale Research dropped the line everyone's been screenshotting: "Current levels for leading altcoins like ETH, SOL, LINK, SUI, and AVAX, amongst others, offer a potentially compelling entry point." Head of Research Zach Pandl went even harder, pointing out their altcoin basket has gotten absolutely demolished—down roughly 59% from its highs—and has only managed to claw back a measly 2% since launching their crypto ETP back in January 2024. That's the kind of recovery that makes you wonder if "compelling" means "compellingly terrible."

March was a strange month for anyone watching traditional markets alongside crypto. While the S&P 500 was out here having a mid-life crisis, slipping about 5%, the Grayscale Crypto Sectors Index actually popped around 4%. For context, that's the kind of relative strength that makes analysts abandon their dignity and start throwing around words like "compelling" without irony.

But Grayscale isn't just tweeting about SUI—they're putting actual money where their mouth usually is. The firm recently dropped the GSUI staking ETF on NYSE Arca like it was nothing, and they're running trusts for SUI ecosystem tokens DeepBook and Walrus. This isn't casual interest; it's a deep bet, second only to their Bitcoin and Ethereum play. They're all in, and they're not being subtle about it.

SUI currently hangs around $0.87, down over 80% from its cycle peak above $5.36. For anyone doing the math at home, that's a haircut that would make even a shaved cat jealous. Whether Grayscale's cheerleading creates a floor remains to be seen—but one thing's for sure: they're definitely not whispering about it. The question is whether anyone is actually listening anymore, or if we're all just watching the institutional parade from the sidelines, holding our broken calculators.
