Ethereum's Price Channel Whispering Sweet Nothings: $5,700 Might Be on the Table
Ethereum has been doing its best impression of a sleeping giant lately, trending sideways with no real direction. But don't snooze just yet – an ascending channel has formed, and if things play out, ETH could be eyeing new all-time highs. The merge was supposed to be the catalyst. The ETFs were supposed to be the catalyst. Now it's... a chart pattern? Welcome to crypto, where we find excitement in trendlines like others find it in roller coasters.
Crypto analyst Jonathan Carter dropped some thoughts on X (formerly Twitter) about where Ethereum might be headed. The key takeaway? ETH is currently hanging out near the lower border of this ascending channel on the weekly chart. Since the price hasn't broken below it, that's still pretty bullish territory. For those keeping score at home, "not dying" is technically a bullish signal in this market. We've truly lowered the bar.
For the bulls to keep dreaming big, a few things need to stay in check. First, the channel structure itself needs to hold – that's the foundation of this whole setup. Second, the $1,900 support zone needs to stay solid. If that gives way, it's crash city. Third, bullish momentum is building, and Carter reckons whales might be quietly accumulating during this sideways action. Basically, ETH needs to not do the one thing it does best: disappoint holders. No pressure.
Assuming everything stays intact, Carter's laid out five recovery targets for ETH:
- $2,350 – roughly 15% up from current levels
- $2,800 – next stop on the train
- $3,550 – breaking through the $3,000 resistance
- $4,700 – setting up a retest of the current all-time high at $4,900
- $5,700 – new peak territory
Five targets. Five dreams. One chart pattern. The hopium pipeline is officially open for business, and the train to Valhalla (or maybe just slightly less loss) has boarded.
But here's the catch: all of this hinges on the ascending channel staying put and $1,900 holding as support. Break below that, and the script gets rewritten in red. Because nothing says "to the moon" quite like "actually, we meant down." Place your bets, degens. The only thing predictable about ETH is its ability to be unpredictable. Good luck out there.
