Iran Says US 'Fumbled the Bag' on Nuclear Deal - Bitcoin Takes Subtle -0.65% Hit

By our Markets Desk2 min read

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf hopped on X to break the news that three out of ten points in the proposed US-Iran negotiation framework got violated before the parties could even shake hands on a deal. Classic move.

According to Ghalibaf, the violations include: ceasefire commitments not honored across all regions (yeah, looking at you Lebanon), Iranian airspace getting straight-up disrespected with violations, and the US apparently denying Tehran's right to enrich uranium like it was a contested airdrop. Awkward.

Ghalibaf called the situation "illogical" for ceasefire or negotiations under current circumstances, noting these breaches have further eroded trust between the parties. Nothing says "let's work together" like breaking promises before the meeting even starts.

For context, the 10-point plan covers ceasefire scope, sanctions relief, regional conflict resolution, and recognition of Iran's nuclear rights. Trump had previously called it a "viable basis for negotiations." Viable, sure. Just like calling a 20% drawdown a "correction."

Markets responded with their usual ADHD. Bitcoin dipped approximately 0.65% post-announcement, while S&P 500 futures climbed 2.4%. WTI crude oil prices, after narrowing earlier losses, reportedly dropped over 15%. Meanwhile, BTC is just vibing, gently weeping in the corner.

Just another day where geopolitical drama makes BTC slightly nauseous.
