The Revolving Door Does a 360: Former SEC, JPMorgan Exec Redfearn Takes the Plunge to Securitize

Brett Redfearn, the man who once told the crypto industry what it couldn't do from inside the SEC's Director of Trading and Markets chair, has now decided he'd rather build than ban. He's joining Securitize as president—because nothing says "I've seen the future" like swapping a government paycheck for equity tokens.

Before his regulator era, Redfearn spent years at JPMorgan climbing the ladder as head of markets and capital markets divisions. You know, the classic Wall Street path: make money for the bank, get bored, go regulate the banks, get bored again, return to where the real alpha is hiding.

Securitize, the digital securities platform that's been quietly eating the traditional securities industry's lunch, is bringing Redfearn on to help scale operations and navigate what can only be described as the world's most elaborate regulatory escape room.

His appointment is yet another data point proving TradFi veterans still view digital assets as the pot of gold at the end of the regulatory rainbow. Call it the great migration, the soft landing nobody's measuring, or just really expensive LinkedIn flex—Wall Street is circling and the moat keeps shrinking.
