Florida AG Decides ChatGPT's Data Security Looks Suspiciously Like a Rug Pull
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has announced an investigation into OpenAI and its chatbot ChatGPT.
The investigation centers on AI safety concerns and allegations that OpenAI has been mishandling data—possibly allowing sensitive information to fall into the wrong hands.
Uthmeier's office will be looking closely at how the AI giant has been protecting (or not protecting) user data. Because when you're building robots that might eventually steal everyone's jobs, you'd think you'd at least keep their data on lockdown.
No timeline has been given for the investigation's conclusion. OpenAI has not publicly responded to the inquiry.
