STRC Is the Hottest Ticket in Town and Everyone's Scrambling for a Piece of the Yield Pie

By our DeFi Desk2 min read

The crypto treasury grind never stops, and right now everyone's eyes are locked on Strategy's high-yield preferred stock, STRC. It's not exactly a secret anymore—if you're not stacking STRC, you're basically leaving yield on the table while everyone else at the DeFi potluck shows up with a full plate.

These firms and protocols are buying STRC faster than traders panic-selling during a tweet from an influencer's leaked group chat. The pitch is simple: an 11.5% annualized dividend, paid monthly in actual cash, which then gets deployed straight into buying more BTC. It's basically a yield farming strategy wrapped in corporate finance packaging, and the DeFi crowd is absolutely feasting on it.

The demand reached such absurd levels that STRC just posted a record-breaking $1.6 billion trading day on Tuesday. Let that number sink in. We're talking more trading volume than some mid-cap altcoins see in an entire week, all for a preferred stock that most retail traders probably couldn't explain to their families at Thanksgiving dinner.

Saturn Credit, a bitcoin-backed yield platform, dove headfirst into STRC and scooped up $15 million worth in just six days after launching. Six. Days. That's faster than most protocols get frontrun on a new token launch.

Apyx, an onchain credit protocol, is sitting on 800,000 shares after grabbing another 200,000 and has made zero secret about its ambitions to become one of the biggest holders in the space. Meanwhile, BitStrategy is aiming for the moon—co-founder and Head of US Ryan McGinnis made it clear the firm wants to become the world's largest Strategy shareholder. Go big or go home, apparently.

On-chain, nearly $200 million in tokenized STRC is chilling on Ethereum, with roughly $100 million actively trading on Pendle—the DeFi casino where traders come to speculate on future yield streams like it's a sport.
