Culture Collective Turns Ibiza Superclubs Into galleries for the Summer CATEGORY: Industry News
In what can only be described as the most aggressively aesthetic use of a sound system since someone paid $69 million for a JPEG, Ibiza's legendary superclubs are being reimagined as gallery spaces for the 2026 summer season. Award-winning nightlife temples UNVRS, Hï Ibiza, and Ushuaïa Ibiza will welcome the inaugural Culture Collective art expo—a partnership between The Night League and London art collective W1 Curates. Running from April 25 through mid-October, the exhibition showcases pieces from over 70 international creators, including Sir Michael Craig-Martin, David Bailey, Japanese illustrator Hajime Sorayama, and Portuguese sculptor Vhils, who has installed a 68-square-metre bas-relief above UNVRS's entrance. The two-year project aims to fundamentally reshape how art is encountered by dropping world-class works into contexts where you'd usually just find a DJ booth and aggressive decibel levels.
The opening parties went down this past weekend on April 25th and 26th, 2026, drawing thousands of eager attendees to scope out the exhibition across all three venues. Hï Ibiza is showing off a 70-meter digital piece by Sir Michael Craig-Martin, while its exterior features two 10-meter high murals courtesy of Valencia duo PichiAvo. The club's entrance has been completely transformed with a large-scale work by Pascal Sender blending physical painting and projection mapping. UNVRS, recently crowned the world's first hyperclub and #1 Club in the World 2026, is displaying Vhils' striking bas-relief—featuring enormous six-meter tall faces surrounded by a gigantic Supermoon. Yes, apparently even the moon gets an upgrade in Ibiza.
The Culture Collective art weekend, landing May 8th and 9th, will feature a two-day symposium with nine panels tackling various art-focused topics. Speakers include Remi Kabaka Jr., co-creator and producer of Gorillaz, Vhils, PichiAvo, and Seth Troxler, with tickets priced at €150 (£130). Attendees also get entry to CamelPhat presents Summer of Love at Hï Ibiza on Friday 8th May, plus ANTS Day and Night events at both Ushuaïa Ibiza and UNVRS on Saturday 9th May. The collaboration also includes official partnerships with luxury streetwear brands Palm Angels and Off-White, with Title Sponsor Otherside and Official Partner Flannels backing the entire operation.
Mark Dale from W1 Curates stressed the project's mission to democratize art access: "We're taking art to the masses and re-inventing the concept of the 'traditional' gallery, placing artworks in much more vibrant and dynamic settings and connecting cultures." Sir Michael Craig-Martin, commenting on his contribution, highlighted his long-standing fascination with public art: "I love the idea of people coming across art in a situation where they wouldn't expect to see it. And this is particularly true of people who wouldn't normally go into an art gallery or museum, so for people to come across it in a club seems to me to be a very interesting idea." The Night League founder Yann Pissenem called the venues "cultural canvases where music, art and creativity come together to create shared moments of discovery."
