Bitmine's Ethereum Holdings Hit $11.6B as 'Alchemy of 5%' Nears

By our Markets Desk2 min read

Tom Lee's Bitmine Immersion Technologies, Inc. is back in the headlines with holdings now totaling $11.6 billion. Per a press release, the largest Ethereum DAT has stacked up 5,416,901 ETH at roughly $2,003 per coin. Its treasury also holds a modest 203 Bitcoin — call it a Bitcoin side dish.

That breakdown works out to 0.1% Bitcoin and 99.9% Ethereum, which is one way to pick a horse. Bitmine has so far bagged 4.49% of the total ETH supply through its aggressive buying spree, and if the pace holds, the "alchemy of 5%" could land sometime in 2026.

Lee weighed in: "Over the past week, we acquired 26,497 ETH. In our view, ETH prices are not reflecting the strengthening of Ethereum fundamentals, but then again, this is not surprising given we are in the early stages of crypto spring." Apt, since spring is when things tend to wake up — and occasionally overshoot the garden.

AMBCrypto separately reported that the company scooped up another 25,000 ETH worth $50.56 million. That move coincided with ETH trading at $1,978.12 at press time, down more than 5% on the week and over 14% on the month.

On-chain, Ethereum's staking queue is swelling. Roughly 3.17 million ETH (around $6.3 billion) is waiting to join validators, while just 57,873 ETH sits in the withdrawal line. That near 55-fold imbalance suggests holders are far more inclined to lock tokens than part with them — a quietly bullish signal, assuming you trust queue math.

Network usage is also hitting record transaction counts, which only sharpens the irony: the chain is busier than ever, and yet ETH's price hasn't quite gotten the memo.

Ethereum Exchange Netflow, meanwhile, tells a more confusing story. Even as investors pull ETH off exchanges — typically a sign of accumulation and lower sell pressure — broader bearish sentiment and market weakness have weighed on price. The latest data shows a modest net inflow of about 23,800 ETH, but overall exchange balances continue to trend down. In short: people are stockpiling, and the chart is still acting confused.
