RLUSD Sees Zero Minted as $27.5 Million Leaves Supply

By our Markets Desk2 min read

Ripple USD ($RLUSD) has logged $0 minted on June 4 so far, even as roughly $27.5 million worth of tokens were pulled from circulation. The quiet day follows a busier start to the month, when June opened with a flurry of minting activity before cooling off.

June 1 alone saw $127.4 million minted alongside $12 million in burns. The pace slipped over the following days, with $3.7 million burned on June 2 and $16.8 million burned on June 3. A late-day mint is still possible, though a look back at May suggests the printers may stay idle.

Back on May 3 and May 4, $0 RLUSD was minted while more than $17 million in tokens were burned. Whether that's a recurring calendar quirk or a quiet moment for Ripple to regroup and plan the next move is anyone's guess.

Demand for $RLUSD grows

On Wednesday, Mastercard announced it would support settlement with Ripple's $RLUSD across a range of supported blockchain networks, including Arbitrum, Coinbase's Base, Canton Network's Canton, Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, Tempo, and the XRP Ledger. The payment giant laid out plans to expand settlement options to cover stablecoin, intraday, holiday, and weekend windows, giving partners more choice in how and when transactions clear.

The setup lets participants settle in fiat or in regulated stablecoins, which Mastercard says should improve liquidity management for cross-border flows that don't like to wait.

Ripple framed the development as confirmation that demand for "modern, always-on settlement infrastructure" keeps climbing. The company added that Mastercard's support for $RLUSD and the $XRP Ledger reflects growing appetite for trusted digital assets and blockchain rails that can power faster, more flexible settlement.

Jack McDonald, SVP of Stablecoins at Ripple, described it as "another major milestone for the adoption of stablecoins in mainstream payments."

$RLUSD marked a smaller-but-real milestone this week as well, becoming available to institutions in Turkey through new partnerships with BiLira Kripto, Bitexen, and Bitlo.
